[ludger was never good at dates.

actually- he hadn't ever had the chance to take anyone out on a date before. even before everything that had happened in his world, he had only ever asked out one girl and that ended in complete failure. said girl had always longed for his brother, julius, and that had really broken ludger's heart. after that, there was someone else that he really cared for but.... he failed to save her. in the end, he's just had a long line of incredibly unfortunate events.

maybe he's just unlucky like that, who knows.

he had already asked out yukiko and he was extremely grateful that she had agreed to a date with him. if he wouldn't have known what to do if he had been rejected again. so, his plan for today was a picnic. ludger had dressed up in a rather fancy outfit, looking extremely sharp for his date. he was also incredibly nervous, so he may have overdressed for the occasion, who knows. either way! ludger brought with his a picnic basket, and inside it was filled with tons of food he had personally prepared for them. get ready for good food and good company yukiko!

they had agreed to meet at the park in genessia, and now he was just walking back and forth underneath one of the extremely large trees. was this a good idea, was he really ready to date?! what if he messes it up?! so many things could go wrong! in any case, when yukiko arrives she'll just see him pacing back and forth, obviously a little worried.]

[In all her years of being in Genessia, the one thing Yukiko had never really done, even back home was go on an actual date. Going out with friends had been one thing she had done but something like this was odd and different. Although it had not been the first time she had been asked out by anyone. There was a challenge named after her for a reason.

Wearing a rather fancy dress which her signiture red because it did suit her like her best friend said all those years ago. She wasn't sure if they had a certain kind of dress code, but she figured she should at least wear something she didn't usually wear on a daily basis.

She had made sure the inn was running well before she had left, feeling the nerves slowly rise up the closer and closer she got. When she finally arrived, her eyes glanced around the surrounding area for any signs of the person she was looking for and it wasn't long until she spotted him. Watching him for a brief moment, she started to make her way over.]

Sorry if I'm late and made you worried.

[She noticed the pacing and assumed that was the reason.]

[when he heard yukiko's voice he jumped and whipped around immediately. once he had actually composed himself, he let out a breath he had been holding in. you're okay ludger, calm down....

ludger blinked and looked right at her, now noticing the outfit she had picked out. she looked wonderful, really, and it made his nerves even worse. he had taken out monsters, entire worlds, even faced people extremely close to him, and this was what he was nervous about? he really needed to pull it together. anyways, time to focus-]

No, no... it wasn't anything like that. [ludger adjusted his tie, it was a habit.] You look beautiful Yukiko.

[....he really hoped he wasn't overdressed.]

[She smiled slightly. She really wasn't sure what to do next. Why was something like this more nerving than all the things she had gone though both back home and here. Hands lightly in front of her she figured she should speak soon or risk just making the situation awkward when it isn't meant to be.]

And you look really dashing. Really suits you.

[She looked around the area they were in for a moment.]

You picked out a really nice spot.

[ludger laughed softly in response to her. he really just needed to remember that this was just yukiko, she hadn't changed at all, they were just going on a harmless little date.

...oh right! their picnic! ludger blinked, suddenly regaining more of his composure and he turned to gesture at the blanket he had set out in preparation for their day.]

On today's menu I kind of went all out. [ludger went over to the blanket and he quickly stepped out of his shoes in order to step on the fabric. he knelt down now, grabbing the basket and putting it in the middle of blanket. he opened up the basket, revealing what he had brought. really... ludger knew it was probably too much, but he really had done his very best. he had sandwiches, fruit salad, assorted meats and cheeses, chips and dip- basically the most ideal picnic foods.

ludger had grabbed a bottle that looked to be rather fancy. he smiled, looking a bit smug due to his picnic display.]

I got the really good kind of juice. [all them ~sparkling~ blends. he just worked on trying to open the bottle while he let her get settled on the blanket.]

[She had gone to follow, taking off her own shoes so she could step into the blanket. It was better than making a mess up bringing on possible dirty shoes. Adjusting her dress slightly, so she could sit down she looked into the basket. It was pretty impressive really.]

Wow. That is a lot of food. Did you make it all yourself?

[It was impressive, she had to admit. She never stopped being amazed at what he could do really.]

[ludger was already pouring both of them some juice in cups. once he was finished he set the bottle back down, now handing her a cup.]

I did.... [he smiled a little nervously.] ...I got excited and ended up going all out. Sorry about that- I really don't think we'll even be able to finish everything.

[She carefully handled the drink when it was given to her, keeping it firmly in her grasp.]

It's fine. Better than nothing at the end of the day. But next time, I will be the one to sort something, okay?

[...UH... he felt a little nervous about yukiko putting together some food, but, he knew he shouldn't stop her either.]

Ah... I think if you follow how I trained you, then you'll put together something great for both of us.

[She has at least followed what she has been taught anyway and felt like she had been improving.]

I'll prove it the next time. I like to think I've come along way.

[because he just really likes her, honestly. so! anyways! on with eating! he takes bites out of his sandwich, now looking around at their surroundings.]

You know, you don't need to thank me. Though... not sure why you needed to thank me anyway.

[She didn't understand it anyway as she had taken a bite of her own.]
